- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My daughter and I had lunch today at the Culina, as we were visiting the Muttart pyramids. I debated about whether to write a review as most of it is very negative, however things can only change and quality improved if deficits aren't identified. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and house salad. The sandwich was sitting in so much liquid, and the top half of the Portuguese roll was set on very wet and sloppy pork. As a result, the whole thing disintegrated the minute I picked it up. The meat had lumps of fat that hadn't been trimmed. The salad was even more disappointing. It made me think that the refrigerator had been culled for any left over vegetables, both cooked and uncooked. As my daughter said, it could have done without seven or so ingredients. The dressing was very liquid and acidic and made no attempt to blend the ingredients together. It was returned virtually uneaten. I did mention to the waitress that the meal was very 'sloppy', a remark which I hope was conveyed to the chefs. I hope that in future salads are considered as a favourable blend and that the dressing is used to unite the ingredients. Serving salads in a bowl would have been helpful. Pulled meat needs better trimming and a thicker sauce as a carrier. Whether we will have lunch there again is debatable. My daughter said that her previous meal there was a stir fry that gave the appearance and taste of having been made a great deal earlier and then nuked. The whole purpose of a stir fry is to present crisp rather than limp vegetables. Come on Culina. You can do much better, and you have in the past.By Marcia Tyerman, December 19, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Food and drinks were good. The hours are quite short given the hours of the Muttart. As well it's a little pricey.By Dean T, December 04, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆I've eaten here a few times and most of my experiences are good. The sandwiches/baguettes are amazing, so tasty. They usually have a good tea selection but sometimes run out which is disappointing if you had your heart set on something. It's usually nice and quiet (though busy), it's a great place to have lunch or brunch. Larger groups have a harder time getting seated, and it's probably advisable to make a reservation ahead of time. The only time I was disappointed here was on a Thursday night date night with an extremely expensive fixed menu for an extremely underwhelming flank steak. Overall, great cafe.By Jaclyn L, November 16, 2016
